As usual, I enjoyed your YouTube video re: when bad things happen while being chronically ill. I could definitely relate to your comments “when in our heads we beat ourselves up” when we don’t get certain things done that we feel or say to ourselves is necessary to do. I’ve tried to take the should’ve, could’ve & would’ve out of my mental vocabulary. It definitely helped me take it easier on myself, (mentally & physically). Oh boy, it’s tough sometimes isn’t it – 30 years is a long time – you’re doing great to be kind to yourself and to stay philosophical about it all 👍
You are absolutely right, its just hard keeping everything ‘ in perspective’ at times. I am nearly three years in and have managed to keep smiling pretty much all of the time, but today the tears have caught up with me, guess this is how it is.

I’m 5 years in to long covid and after watching both your videos and Raelan Agle’s for the last six months I now have a good measure of recovery. I’m no longer bed bound, I can get occasionally to cafés and even manage baby steps strength training exercises. I’ve used a multi strategy approach to brain retraining (which includes the exercise), self/ hypnosis (the Silva Method) plus other modalities to deal with trauma. Watching podcasts, like this one (which is again a part of my brain retraining) is immeasurably helpful. This one is an essential reminder to avoid overwhelm by… Read more »
