Finding Hope for Fibromyalgia, ME/CFS, POTS or MCS
Every other day we see news about a new hope for Fibromyalgia, hope for ME/CFS cure or hope for POTS treatments or understanding MCS.
It's a bit of a double-sided emotion. Yes we can feel hope, but hope can also bring with it disappointment.
However, I have learned that without hope for getting our lives back, not only can we feel completely lost, but inevitably we end up doing nothing to change the status quo (after all, what would be the point of trying if there was no hope!?).
So, what brings you hope?
See others get their life back?
Understanding how recovery happens?
Or maybe there are other processes when we experience hopelessness.
Below are 4 main resources to support you to rediscover hope for fibromyalgia, ME/CFS, POTS and MCS:
1.) Understand how the illness works
Let's face it, anything that is going to baffle health care practitioners for decades isn't something you can expect to get your head around in a few minutes.
But realise that you don't have to know and understand everything to minute detail. Leave that to the health care professionals that are supporting you. Instead seek to learn enough to be able to make sense of your experience.
2.) Listen to how others have recovered
When you listen to these Fibromyalgia, ME/CFS, POTS and related syndromes recovery stories and you will clearly see that these people genuinely had the illness and suffered the same symptoms as you have.
Listen to how they also struggled in their recovery journey and how they truly got their life back.
