  1. As usual, I enjoyed your YouTube video re: when bad things happen while being chronically ill. I could definitely relate to your comments “when in our heads we beat ourselves up” when we don’t get certain things done that we feel or say to ourselves is necessary to do. I’ve tried to take the should’ve, could’ve & would’ve out of my mental vocabulary. It definitely helped me take it easier on myself, (mentally & physically). Also related to your comments on how chronic illness can be not just physically but emotionally draining. I’ve have been living with fibro, myofacial pain syndrome, and many other chronic painful illnesses for the past 30 yrs. Unfortunately, it seems the older I get the more symptomatic the conditions are compared to when I was younger. But with age comes more wisdom, patience & coping techniques that I did not possess in earlier yrs. For that I am totally grateful.

  2. You are absolutely right, its just hard keeping everything ‘ in perspective’ at times. I am nearly three years in and have managed to keep smiling pretty much all of the time, but today the tears have caught up with me, guess this is how it is.

    1. It’s tough sometimes.

When we can see ourselves making progress with our recovery, we can change how we look at things.

Sometimes it’s slow going, but having a plan is key.

      Hope you are doing better.

      1. Chillaxxxx-love the vid Dan. you looked quite relaxed too, and I think you kept the animals all relaxed. Was it the other way around wild animals, Would love koalas? Perhaps that’s a key to having some rest bite from fibro is watching Australian wildlife and nothing else and occasionally Dan pop his head up.😄😄

  3. I’m 5 years in to long covid and after watching both your videos and Raelan Agle’s for the last six months I now have a good measure of recovery. I’m no longer bed bound, I can get occasionally to cafés and even manage baby steps strength training exercises. I’ve used a multi strategy approach to brain retraining (which includes the exercise), self/ hypnosis (the Silva Method) plus other modalities to deal with trauma. Watching podcasts, like this one (which is again a part of my brain retraining) is immeasurably helpful. This one is an essential reminder to avoid overwhelm by stepping back and remembering to go slow.
I also send you my very best wishes for the chronic difficulties you have to manage due to scar tissue adhesion. I’ve had severe emphysema since I was 32, (I’m now 62) And again the invisibility of these conditions is quie isolating and their impact on daily living can be considerable. May you continue to flourish despite your challenges,
    Jack.
